Intensive Prophetic Training is a necessary component in our understanding of the prophetic gift and office. We must understand the difference between a false prophet and making mistakes in prophetic ministry. Mistakes will be made just as Nathan the Prophet or Agabus made mistakes in their ministry. Some have suggested that because we are speaking on God?s behalf, we cannot make mistakes. I assume that those who preach the Gospel are speaking on God?s behalf and yet I know they have made mistakes as preachers, teachers, evangelists, and apostles. Some of the apostles had to be corrected such as Peter by Paul. There is only one infallible! Jesus, the Prophet! How is it if we are not allowed to make mistakes that we are able to preach, prophesy, teach, or evangelize? Must we wait till we are fully mature? How will it happen? Is that how the great preachers, teachers, prophets, apostles and evangelists did it? Or did they make mistakes? If we wait until we are fully mature, we will wait till we arrive on heavens shore as we will have no outlet here to nurture and develop our gifts or abilities. Jesus used a model of ministry where He let the disciples observe Him doing the ministry. They were then able to minister while He was there observing, then He sent them out to do the ministry on their own. When they returned, they gave a report and received further instruction, correction and affirmation by the Lord. What is the bottom line of what I am saying? You are free to make mistakes as you learn and grow and mature. God?s grace is sufficient for us all! Don?t let others suggest you are a false prophet because you make a mistake. We don?t accuse preachers, teachers or evangelists of being false because they made an honest mistake. That is the key point! Honest mistakes. I am confident that you will join the ranks of hundreds and thousands of people who have begun to hear God?s voice and communicate that to others (prophesy) and that you will be a great encouragement to all believers because you either operate in the gift of prophecy, function under the spirit of prophecy or are a prophet.
